What Patients
Should Know
Before Treatment
-
Patients should bring a printed copy or email the most recent X-Ray prior to your initial evaluation
-
Wear clothing that can easily display the spine (bathing suit, sports bra or cami)
-
Patients should bring their brace, if applicable
What Will
Patients Learn During Treatment
Patients will learn about their curve pattern and how
their body compensates. They will learn scoliosis specific exercises to help elongate and de-rotate their spine. They will learn postural awareness so that they learn to live outside of their curve. They will also learn best sitting and standing posture, as well as backpack safety. Lastly, they will be provided a core stabilization program to strengthen the muscles that help support the spine.
Payment Information
-
Charlotte Scoliosis Clinic operates as a cash-based practice, offering lower rates than most competitors around the country at $155 per 55 minute visit and is considered an out-of-network provider. (Starting January 1, 2025, there will be a price increase to $165 per visit. This increase is due to higher operating costs as several of my business expenses are increasing).
-
North Carolina is a Direct Access state, therefore, a referral is not required to schedule an appointment. However, based on my evaluation, I may recommend you see your doctor.
-
Payment is due at time of service and upon request, patients will be provided with an invoice detailing specific CPT codes for submission to your insurance company for any potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
At this time, patients with Medicare are able to be seen, however, with the understanding that Medicare will not be billed for your treatment.
-
Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts will be accepted.
-
Most patients require 8-12 visits before transitioning to a home exercise program.
